Tom Malot Construction Company is a local family-owned company formed in 1961. It offers a full range of building expertise, including large scale "from the ground up" development, commercial development, affordable family housing, high-end custom home design and construction, subdivisions, multi-family housing, and more.
Over the years, Tom Malot Construction has built more than 3,000 homes and many large-scale commercial buildings in southern Oregon. In Central Point, chief projects include Jackson Creek Estates, with more than 250 homes, a city park, and beautifully landscaped grounds and greenway. Tom Malot Construction not only developed the entire subdivision, but also built the lion's share of the custom homes. Other projects in Central Point include the Mitchell's Landing, Valley Estates, and Mazama subdivisions.
In White City, Clear Sky Estates, White Mountain Estates, and Antelope Valley Estates are three of the company's chief projects. Clear Sky Estates, completed in 1991, was the first frame-house project in White City in 24 years, with 1,100 to 1,500 square foot family-style homes. The company used a percentage of the development's profits to help buyers with their down payment, contributing up to three percent of the purchase value. Families moved into homes in this quality community with $500 or less.
But the bottom line for Tom Malot Construction is that the company stands for more than just profits. It's focused on not just building homes, but on building community. Much of the crew on its White City developments came via Boise Cascade. When the 1998 Labor Day fire at Boise caused a number of men and women to lose their jobs, Tom Malot Construction seized the opportunity to help by training and employing laid-off workers.
